Arabic Calligraphy Generator FAQs

These answers explain what Free Calligraphy Generator does, how its fonts work and what you should check before using a generated design in a public, religious or commercial project.
What is an Arabic calligraphy generator?
An Arabic calligraphy generator is an online tool that displays Arabic text in decorative or calligraphy-inspired digital fonts. You enter or paste your text, choose a font, adjust the design and export the result. It provides a faster way to explore Arabic typography without drawing every letter manually.
No. The tool uses digital Arabic fonts and browser-based design controls. It can create attractive calligraphy-inspired typography, but it does not reproduce the individual composition, pen technique or artistic judgement of a trained traditional calligrapher. For formal commissions, complex compositions or culturally significant artwork, consider working with a professional calligrapher.
Yes. The primary generator is available without a required payment or account registration. Available features may be changed or expanded as the website is developed.
No account is required to use the primary calligraphy generator. You can enter text, compare fonts, customize the design and use the available export options directly in your browser.
Yes. You can enter an Arabic name and preview it in different fonts. Before creating the design, confirm the correct Arabic spelling of the name. Names transliterated from another language may have more than one acceptable Arabic spelling.
The tool can display Arabic diacritics when they are included in the text and supported by the selected font. Harakat support varies between fonts. A font may display basic marks correctly but position stacked diacritics differently. Always carefully inspect text containing Fatha, Kasra, Damma, Shadda, Sukun or Tanween before downloading it.

The tool can be used to preview text containing Quranic verses or duas, but the generated result must be verified before publication or printing.

Check:

  • Every word
  • Every letter
  • The order of the text
  • All Harakat
  • Line breaks
  • Punctuation
  • Whether any marks overlap or disappear

For sacred text, verify the final design with an authoritative source or a qualified reviewer.

The best font depends on the purpose of the design.

  • Naskh-inspired fonts generally prioritize readability.
  • Kufic-inspired fonts are useful for bold, structured or geometric designs.
  • Diwani-inspired fonts create a flowing and decorative appearance.
  • Ruqaa-inspired fonts have a compact handwritten character.
  • Nastaliq fonts are especially associated with Urdu and Persian typography.
  • Modern display fonts work well for headings, posters and social graphics.

Preview the complete phrase rather than choosing a font based only on a single letter.

There are two different types of output.

Plain Arabic text may be copied as Unicode text and pasted into compatible applications. Its appearance will depend on the font used by the destination application.

A designed calligraphy image does not retain its appearance as ordinary copied text. To preserve the selected font, colours and effects, download the design as an image or vector file.

PNG is an image format that works well for websites, social media, presentations and transparent-background graphics.

SVG is a vector format. It can normally be enlarged without becoming pixelated, making it useful for printing, cutting machines and further editing in compatible design software.

Check the exported file before sending it to a printer or manufacturer.

Your ability to use a design commercially can depend on the licence of the font used in it.

A font may allow personal projects but restrict logos, merchandise, applications, editable templates, redistribution or other commercial uses.

Review the licence information for the selected font and confirm the terms with the font’s original publisher when the project is commercial.

The generator is designed to work on desktop, tablet and mobile browsers.

The available screen space and browser behaviour may affect the editing experience. For detailed designs, a larger screen may provide more precise control.

Disconnected or incorrectly shaped letters may be caused by:

  • A font that lacks full Arabic shaping support
  • An unsupported character
  • A browser-rendering issue
  • Text copied with hidden formatting
  • Mixing Arabic and Latin punctuation
  • An application that does not support right-to-left text correctly

Try another font, paste the text as plain text, refresh the page or test the design in another modern browser.

The primary generator is designed to process text in the browser, and we do not intentionally save the text or generated designs created through it on our servers.
